Blackpool Memorabilia Shop - Front North Pier

TRAMS magazine, along with our sister company, Videoscene, have taken over the Blackpool Memorabilia shop at the front of North Pier. Since 1988, David and Linda Hughes have successfully owned and operated this well known and popular seafront premises. With a huge range of Blackpool related souvenirs and gifts as well as tramway books, DVDs, models, postcards and, of course, TRAMS magazine, the shop is already known to most tram enthusiasts and visitors who either live locally or come to Blackpool during the season.

David and Linda have
now retired and offered the shop to TRAMS editor Nick Meskell, who was pleased to get involved. Outgoing owner David Hughes said ā€œHaving run this shop for 21 years, I am pleased our legacy will carry on and Nick, with his books and DVDs, is the best man for the jobā€. Nick replied ā€œI am really pleased to have been offered the opportunity to take on this business. With the 125th anniversary in 2010, the last year for the existing trams in 2011 and then the Supertrams in 2012, it’s going to be an interesting few years for the tramway and we’ll be thereā€.

TRAMS magazine took over the operation of the shop on 1st December. The existing shop and layout will be retained for the winter and early spring prior to a refit and relaunch at Easter next year. Immediately the range of books and DVDs have been expanded to include a larger selection of the tram, bus, trolleybus and railway DVDs which are currently advertised in our catalogue and on our website. We
have also expanded the range of Corgi Diecast models, other tram and bus models and added a huge range of tram and bus photographs, past and present as well as tram mugs, keyrings and many more tram related items. We will also be able to accept debit and credit cards and it may be possible to have a Travelcard sales point. Look out for some great new products – details to follow.

If you live locally or are visiting Blackpool during the winter we will be open daily during the Christmas and New Year period and February half term week, plus various other weekends. Please call in and say hello.

If you are visiting, why not order in advance? Telephone or email a few days before and we’ll have your order ready and waiting for you! For our full list of products go to www.videoscene.co.uk. Keep checking this website for regular updates.
